RMU is the partner of “New Generation” – Russian Competition of Young Composers and Musical Journalists

From March 1 to May 17, 2020, the II Russian Competition of Young Composers and Music Journalists will be held in Moscow A creative competition is organized by Moscow Children’s Music Schools No. 66 and No. 92 with the support of Russian Musical Union.

Among the tasks of the competition are the identification of talented children, preservation of the best traditions of domestic composer schools, support of creative pedagogical innovations and the use of the latest multimedia technologies in the work of teachers, creation of a positive-intellectual environment for communication between students and professionals.

Participants in different age groups (from 9 to 17 years old) compete in two categories: “Composer Creativity” and “Music Journalism”.

At the gala concert of the laureates, the winners in “Composer Creativity” nomination will take the stage and perform their works.

The works of the finalists will be performed in the second stage of the festival – at the International Music Competition for Young Performers. Its participants – pianists, violinists, brass players and other musicians – will perform the compositions of the winners of the first stage. This means that young Russian composers will hear their works performed by dozens of peers from around the world.

The international music competition will be held this fall at prestigious concert venues with a symphony orchestra.
