RMU presented a concert program based on biblical motives
The first line from the Gospel of John “In the beginning was the Word” was used as the title of the first concert from the “Book of Books” cycle, dedicated to musical works created by composers in reflection on the texts of the Old and New Testaments – the Eternal Book, which the classics turned to and from which our contemporaries continue to draw inspiration.
The first concert of the project organized by the Russian Musical Union in partnership with the Russian Jewish Congress (RJC) took place in the Atrium of the “Khlebny Dom” of the Tsaritsyno Museum and National Park. During the upcoming five months, the public will hear chamber music from various eras – from baroque and classicism of the 17th century to minimalism and avant-garde of the 20th-21st centuries.
The music is performed by in-house soloists of the “Musica Grande” art community – laureates of Russian National, as well as International Music Competitions, soloists of leading musical theaters. The invited artists take part in the concerts as well.
