RMU will host an international symposium on recording classical music as part of the “Pure Sound” Award
On October 22-23, 2019 in Moscow for the first time the International Symposium “Recording Industry of Academic Music” will be held. The event, hosted by Russian Musical Union, will be a part of the International Award for Best Audio Recording of Russian Academic Music “Pure Sound”. The venue of the symposium will be the Congress Center of the World Trade Center on Krasnopresnenskaya Embankment.
The speakers of the event are world-famous professionals: Vladimir Ryabenko, Chief Sound Engineer at Mariinsky Theater (St. Petersburg); Mike Hatch, the founder of Floating Earth Ltd record company (Great Britain); Pavel Lavrenenkov, Head of the recording service at Moscow Philharmonic; Michael Brammann, sound engineer at Teldec, Warner Classics, Sony companies (Germany); Maria Soboleva, Professor of Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography, Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, Institute of Contemporary Art, Chairman of the Guild of Sound Engineers of Russian Musical Union.
For the exchange of experience, there will be communication areas dedicated to issues of concert sound engineering, business solutions, copyright, and others. The program will also include master classes on restoration and archiving of sound recordings, mastering, studio sound production, which will be held in various studios of the capital. Master classes by Vladimir Ryabenko and Mike Hatch are especially anticipated at the CineLab Full Cycle Motion Pictures Studio, which is a partner of the symposium and the “Pure Sound” Award. In addition, the event participants will learn about the latest products and sound technologies from Yamaha and other manufacturers.
