The festival contest of young performers "Gnesin-Jazz" will be held with the support of RMU
From November7 to 11, 2016, the VI International jazz festival competition of young performers Gnesin-Jazz will be held in Moscow with the assistance of RMU. The organizer of the festival is the Gnesins Russian Academy of Music, and tis artistic director – the famous composer, conductor and performer, People’s Artist of Russia, Anatoly Kroll. The competition is held with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and under the auspices of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO.
For several days in the halls of the Russian Academy of Music and the Gnesins Musical College, competitive auditions of the participants of the festival – big bands, sympho jazz orchestras, instrumental ensembles and soloists from different parts of the country – will be held. The performers will play jazz classics, works of contemporary jazz composers, their own compositions and arrangements, jazz folklore developments.
Members of the jury – prominent figures of Russian jazz art – will determine the winners in several nominations following the results of the performances. The festival will end on November 11 with the solemn awarding of laureates and the final master concert “Gnesin-Jazz — thebest!”in the concert hall of the Academy.
