The RMU MAMKIM ‘InternatMolOt’ held an international seminar for young composers in St. Petersburg

In St. Petersburg, on November 19-26, 2017, the First International Choir Seminar and Forum was organized by the International Association of Young Composers, Performers and Music Scholars ‘InternatMolOt’ of the Guild of Composers of the Russian Musical Union (RMU). The seminar was attended by composers from 10 countries.

The Composers Forum opened on November 19 with a concert in the Anikushin Studio, which included works by professors of the seminar: Alexander Kneifel, Honored Artist of Russia (St. Petersburg), and Professor Helena Tulve, Cavalier of the Order of Arts and Literature of France (Tallinn), as well as the curator of the seminar Yaroslav Sudzilovskiy, Head of International Association of Young Composers, Performers and Music Scholars (MAMKIM ‘InternatMolOt’) at the Russian Musical Union (RMU), Chairman of the MolOt at the RF Union of Composers.

For several days, Russian Institute of Art History held lectures, individual and group classes, presentations, and rehearsals. Composers got a unique opportunity to work with performers in the process of writing compositions and creating music scores. The culmination of the forum was a concert at the Museum of the Academy of Fine Arts named after I. E. Repin. The music of professors and seminar participants was performed by MolOt Ensemble from St. Petersburg and Festino Chamber Choir.
