RMU and MolOt organize the V International MolOt Festival

The Youth Department of the Union of Composers of Russia (MolOt) and the Russian Musical Union will organize the 5th International MolOt Festival, the main goal of which is to present the compositions of young composers from Russia and the countries of the former USSR to the audience.

The opening of the music forum will be held on March 28, 2017 on the New Stage of the Alekandrinsky Theater in St. Petersburg. The St. Petersburg MolOt Ensemble will perform, celebrating its fifth anniversary this year. The ensemble will perform works of young authors, written specifically for the opening of the festival.

The festival program includes symphony, chamber and choral concerts in Novosibirsk, Ekaterinburg, St. Petersburg, Warsaw (Poland), Kazan, Molodechno (Belarus), Paris (France), Tbilisi (Georgia), Petrozavodsk, Ufa, Nizhny Novgorod, Moscow and Kaliningrad. In Saratov, Minsk, Yakutsk, Yekaterinburg and St. Petersburg, two-week creative workshops under the leadership of leading Russian composers, performers and musicologists will be held. The result of the creative workshops work will be the emergence of new works by young composers to be be performed within the framework of the festival. Concert and educational lines of the 5th International MolOt festival will be supplemented by a scientific program. Conservatories of Kazan and Astrakhan will host international conferences on contemporary composer creativity.

Based on the results of the festival, an almanac will be released, including musical notations of the brightest works created during the work of creative workshops, musicological articles, reports and interviews about past events, as well as abstracts of scientific conferences.
