With the support of the RMU, the festival "Spring in Russia" is held

The 16th Moscow International Chamber Music Festival “Spring in Russia” was launched in the capital, organized by the P.I. Tchaikovsky State Quartet, Association of laureates of the International P.I. Tchaikovsky Competition and SBIC “Mosconcert”. RMU is a partner of the festival.

 The festival was opened with a gala concert “Masterpieces of World Classics and Legendary TV Melodies”, which was held on April 7 at the A.S. Pushkin State Museum. The 2016 was memorably declared the Year of Russian Cinema – this event was dedicated to the opening of the spring music forum, which, as always, surprises with creative finds. So, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Prokofiev and Shostakovich sounded together the masterpieces of Dunaevsky, Solovyov-Sedoy, Tariverdiev, Schwartz – favorite melodies from movies – for the first time in an unusual concert.

 Among the participants of the festival “Spring in Russia” – famous Russian and foreign artists, as well as young performers. This year, several thematic programs will be presented at the festival. Thus, a concert of Russian vocal lyrics “That was early in the spring…” and gala concert “Spring Motives of Romanticism” were held in the museum “Tchaikovsky and Moscow”. In the music room of “Losev’s House” there was an evening of music by Mikael Tariverdiev “The Third Dimension”, organized by the Moscow Musical Theater “Amadeus”. N.M. Mikhailov Moscow Wind Orchestra will present the original adaptations of classical works. The permanent participant of the festival and its main founder – the P.I. Tchaikovsky State Quartet – will also acquaint its listeners with the updated repertoire.

 Traditionally, the festival celebrates memorable historical dates. This year they are dedicated to the jubilees of Prokofiev, Mozart, Shostakovich. The compositions of these great composers will be heard on the festival venues. In addition, there will be the concert “Musical Offering to Prokofiev”, at which young Moscow composers will present their premier works.

 Closing of the festival and Gala-concert will be held on April 17 in the A.S. Pushkin State Museum.
